The best restaurants with a view of the Eiffel Tower

Did you know that painters, writers, sculptors, and poets signed a petition in 1886 to stop the construction of the Eiffel Tower? Yes, they said its ugliness was unrivaled. And that it would outshine even the most beautiful and refined of Parisian monuments.

They were not wrong about something: the Tower does outshine. It attracts, intrigues, leads, admires. The Iron Lady moves crowds. So here I am mixing two of the most irrepressible desires that all of us, when coming to Paris, have: eat and see the Eiffel Tower Take notes:

Le Ciel de Paris

Those who opposed its construction called it “The Iron Monster” and although we now call it “the Lady”, there is indeed a monster in Paris. There is a horrific counterpoint that disfigures the Parisian landscape without a doubt: The Montparnasse Tower.

An ugly skyscraper that clashes with the beautiful harmony of Parisian buildings, and it is precisely on the top floor that this restaurant is located. It is on floor 56 in the Montparnasse Tower. .

There is a champagne and cocktail bar and a French gastronomy restaurant. It is the most beautiful and poetic view. From the Iron Monster, we can see the Lady in spotlight, and enjoy a view of Paris..

The first time I went was in the afternoon, and I ordered a drink. The bar is strategically located just to see the Eiffel Tower… Imagine the view that you have from the tables. Incredible!!

Les Ombres

I’m crazy about museums and, although we’re talking about restaurants with views of the Eiffel, I can’t help but to take the opportunity: the second restaurant is in a museum terrace.

This is the Musée du Quai Branly (Museum of non-European civilizations: Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania, and America). It is on the Quai Branly, by the banks of the Seine. You don’t have to visit the museum to go to the restaurant, but it is good to know that you have the option.

It is next to the Tower. The food is gourmet and the views are very good. If you can, sit facing the river, so that your back is facing at the Montparnasse Tower 😉

Service timetable: Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 19:00 to 22:30.

Address: 27 Quai Branly, 75007 Paris

This is a restaurant 5-star worthy hotel. A total luxury!

Café Le Dome

This is a typical French brasserie. One of those that occupy the entire street with tables. In where diner tables look to the same side, the street: to see and be seen. Do not pay attention to its name: they not only serve coffee, you can have lunch or dinner here.

To be noted, it is on the street! That means, at ground level. You will not see the legs of the Tower, but only the top if you sit outside, looking towards the river. Not as I did but as the photographer :p

It is a very lively area and the attention of the staff is good. But I will be honest with you: the food is not the best. It’s better just to stop for a coffee or a snack.

Service timetable: Every day from 12h to 15h and from 19h to 23h.

Address: 149 Rue Saint-Dominique, 75007 Paris

Official website: It doesn’t have one 🙁

Take a casual one, like I'm just talking on the phone :p

Chez Francis

Another French food brasserie, but beware that there are several “Chez Francis” in Paris. To see the Tower from the street, you have to go to the one right in front of the Pont de l’Alma, where Lady Di died.

The cuisine is a classic one and the dishes are well presented. What I like most about this restaurant (apart from the views of the Eiffel Tower) is that, it is in a very strategic position.

It is literally between the Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Seine, and the Place de la Concorde. A very strategic spot to stop for a while, touring the west area of Paris.

Service timetable: Every day from 12h to 23h.

Address: 7 Pl. de l'Alma, 75008 Paris

Official website: It doesn’t have one 🙁

Doesn’t matter if it’s day or night. Chez Francis terrace always has the best vibes.

Café de l'Homme

One of the first chic cafes I went to in Paris. It is exactly in front of the Tower, on the Trocadero terrace. Where people go to take photos for Instagram. This café is part of the Palacio Chaillot. Perhaps this name does not ring a bell because, as said at the beginning, the Tower outshines.

In front of the Tower there is a cultural circuit called “the hill of art”, to which the Chaillot Palace contributes by housing 3 museums: the National Museum of the Navy, the Museum of Architecture and the Museum of Man. Can you guess which one is the Café de l’Homme? Yes, in the Man’s.

Looking at the Tower from the Trocadero terrace, it is the building on the right. Again, you don’t need to go to the museum to enjoy a coffee, but I highly recommend it.

Service Tiimetable: ATTENTION! The museum of man and the navy are closed for reparation until 2023, and so is the café. We're going to have to wait to go, but it will be worth it.

Address: 17 Pl. du Trocadéro, 75016 Paris

Official Website: www.cafedelhomme.com

The photo is from Sortir à Paris. Because I only went there once, and can you believe that I didn't take any photo? 🙁 Who knew I would need it 4 years later? But with these views it could not be part of the list. 2023 is coming soon!!

As we conclude our delightful exploration of the best restaurants with views of the Eiffel Tower, I hope you are inspired and excited to embark on a gastronomic journey like no other.
